Just like I remembered from the first AR project I covered, this house is remarkably sensitive to all of the important things: the home’s heritage, the home owners and the way we live today, and the great responsibility of balancing preservation with modern practices for durability, energy-efficiency and healthy living. Michael Klement and Architectural Resource excel in these areas. Every architectural style has it’s hallmark materials. One of the things that Michael does so well is integrate today’s modern materials into historically sensitive projects. In this Arts-and-Crafts home the predominant material is the wood used for all of the wonderful built-ins, trim, and wainscot. But the accents are no less important. From the double-hung windows to the custom pendant lights, AR got it right again.
